Discover the world of thermalism in the department of Ain, with a conference entitled "Un patrimoine de santé - lecture on the architectural landscape in Hauteville-Lompnes and Divonne-les-Bains" by Anne-Siegrid Adamowicz.
On Sunday, October 10th, the Bugey-Valromey museum invites you to discover the universe of thermalism in the department of Ain, with a conference entitled " A heritage of health - Reading the architectural landscape in Hauteville-Lompnes and Divonne-les-Bains ", at 3:30 pm.
For this event, the museum welcomes Anne-Siegrid Adamowicz, a graduate in Art History and Archaeology, who will talk about the installation of climatic stations in Hauteville-Lompnes and Divonne-les-Bains.
"The climatic and environmental conditions of the middle mountains of the Ain department allowed, during the second half of the 19th century, the installation of the first French climatic station in Hauteville-Lompnes, and the creation of the water city of Divonne-les-Bains with its therapeutic architecture at the doors of Switzerland. The singular past of these two resorts, created and run by two doctors, can still be seen in the landscape today. "
