Guided tour of the old town of Culoz and the castle of Montveran
Within the framework of its summer visits, the Tourist Office Bugey Sud Grand Colombier proposes to you for the second year the discovery of the old village of Culoz.
Dominated by the Grand Colombier massif and bordered by the Rhône, the town of Culoz prospered from the Middle Ages thanks to the vineyard and the activities established around its river, the Jourdan. This industrial city, the headquarters of the CIAT company, also owes its fame to many famous people: the Serpollet brothers, Henry Dunant, Dr Poncet and the American writer Gertrude Stein.
The visit ends with the discovery of Montveran Castle, which has the particularity of belonging to the same family since the 14th century.
This visit requires a habit of walking on paths as well as the wearing of hiking boots. Also bring a hat and a bottle of water.
