This route along the River Rhône is ideal for family outings – whether on foot, cycling or whizzing along on rollers, it’s a lovely way to get close to nature and admire the plants and wildlife of Bugey’s beautiful landscapes. 50 km of the ViaRhôna!

In Bugey Sud between the Ain, Savoie, Isère and Haute-Savoie 50 km of track for walkers, cyclists and rollerbladers takes you through the landscapes along the banks of the Rhône.

ViaRhôna is an ambitious plan to link Lake Geneva to the Mediterranean Sea. Not all stretches of it have been built yet.

It offers an easily accessible cycling path with carparks for visitors conveniently located all along the route.

ViaRhôna is particularly well-suited to children as it is a secure route and more or less flat all the way.

Picnic tables have been placed at various points so you can take a break and admire the marvellous landscapes.

Several sites of interest are located near ViaRhôna, such as the Escale Museum of the Upper Rhône and the Lavours Marshes and interpretive centre, La Maison du Marais.
