Sunday, July 9, 2017 : Stage 9 of the Tour de France 2017 – Nantua to Chambéry via the Grand Colombier

On the programme for this 181 km stage, a climb of 4600m in our Jura mountains as the tour goes via:
- Le col de la Biche : 10.5 km at a 9% gradient
- The most difficult route up Le Grand Colombier – 8.5 km at a 9.9% gradient
- The Savoy side of the Relais du Chat – 8.7 km at a 10.3 % gradient
This promises to be a beautiful stage “suited to climbers and the favourites”, according to sports magazine L’Equipe.

Chris Froome: “I believe that in 2017 the Tour will be won in the mountains. Only one time trial of 23km, plus a prologue of 13km, which means that it’s going to be a race that is won or lost in the mountains. The stage that goes up the Mont du Chat (Stage 9 between Nantua and Chambéry) looks very tough to me. “ (FranceTV Sport).
